This page records changes to the Morningside Station web site.

22nd October 2009: I added a photo that showed some of my variant kits in use.  I also uploaded a set of share certificates for 1829 Mainline.

21st September 2009: Geoff C corrected the size of the certificates in his kit for the Metropolitan railway.

4th September 2009: I added two new kits.  My own DB8 gives alternative trains for minor companies.  Geoff C's kit gives a new minor company: the Metropolitan railway.

26th August 2009: I added a couple of minor points to the rule interpretations page.  I also uploaded a revised version of the house rules PDF document that incorporates all the changes I made this week.

25th August 2009: I rewrote some of the text in the house rules for combining units and moved some material form the minor variants page to the other variants page. I also replaced the shares for the SECR (in Unit 1 and in Kit DB2) with easier to read versions.

24th August 2009: I revised and simplifed the page on ferry variants.  I added the Callander & Oban minor company to Kit DB6.   I also replaced the shares for the HBR (in Kit DB6) and Highland Railway (in Unit 3) with easier to read versions.

5th May 2009: New links added.

18th April 2009: I added the Recommendations page, which lists the variants that I particularly recommend.  In Kit DB5, I revised the distribution of single track tiles between kits.  I also made some very minor changes to the notes for Kit DB3.

9th April 2009: I revised the notes for Kit DB3 and made minor changes to the pages for minor variants and combining units.

5th April 2009: I revised the Units and Kits page to address feedback.

1st April 2009: Fixed a broken link on the Station promotions page and fixed some layout problems on this Site History page.

21st March 2009: I made the PDF versions of the Share Price Indices slightly larger again, to match the size in my original Word files.  This change was minor, so I didn't change the version numbers.

I also added the Other variations rules page and the Site history page.

6th March 2009: I uploaded new versions of the PDF files that contain the components and variant kits.  The graphics in the previous versions had been shrunk by the PDF converter that I was using; the new versions should be the correct sized.  The new files are version 1.1.

I also added a note about 'Halt' tiles to Mike Hutton's variant for single-track tiles.

10th February 2009: First public announcement of the site, to the 18XX mailing list.

About the name

I chose the name Morningside Station after what used to be the local railway station here. Sadly, that station is now remembered only in the Edinburgh bus timetables, where persist in naming the road junction after the defunct railway station.

The name also pays homage to Chris Lawson's original (and far more comprehensive) Blackwater Station site.

Acknowledgements

I would like to thank Lou Jerkich and Mike Hutton, in particular, for their careful reviews of this site before I announced it to the world.  I would like to thank Ronald Novicky for contributing his variant to the site, and also to thank the various comments and corrections I have received from readers of the 18xx mailing list.

Finally, my thanks to Francis Tresham, for Civilisation, 1829, 1853, Spanish Main, and of course 1825 itself.
